“The Power of Community”  – Gamelan Tunas Mekar Documenting 25 years of an American gamelan Life music and dance of BALI within a Colorado urban backdrop. >> A cross-generational endeavor featuring Artist-in-Residence I Made Lasmawan and Balinese dancer Ni Ketut Marni >> Discovering how to ‘pass the torch’ to a new generation of musicians and leaders. >> See www.tunasmekar.org for the “Power of Community” campaign or Http://www.igg.me/at/gtm. A Call for APA Artists

Posted on Mar 19, 2014 in APA, Art, Arts & Culture | 0 comments

Calling all Asian American/Pacific Islander faculty, staff, students, and community artists! The Morgan Library is launching a new project to highlight Asian American/Pacific Islander faculty, staff, students, and community artists during the Asian American/Pacific Islander Awareness month this April 2014! Artwork will be displayed in the 1st National Bank Gallery in the Morgan Library (located by Morgan’s Grind). For the artwork specifications, the exhibit will be seeking 2D pieces only, general dimensions right around 40×40. The library can accommodate bigger works so if there is an artist(s) who have a large 2D piece, the library can judge this on a case by case basis. Garrett Mynatt from the Morgan Library is coordinating this project. He would need to have everything in the library the week of March 24th. He will begin accepting artwork on that Monday the 24th through Friday the 28th. Artwork will be displayed through the month of April. If you have questions or need more specific information and details about submitting artwork, please contact Garrett Mynatt, (720) 320-4996 or email him at garrett.mynatt@colostate.edu. Please consider submitting your artwork to Garrett and share this information with other Asian American/Pacific Islander artists that you know! A/PACC and the Morgan Library would love to showcase the diversity and talents of our Asian American/Pacific Islander faculty, staff, students, and community...
