In the aftermath of the relief efforts made by local and international community, the Tacloban area primarily affected by Typhoon Haiyan have made tremendous progress. NaFFAA V was able to raise and donate more than $25,000 to help build livelihoods, provide food, water and shelter, and rebuild infrastructure and education, such as the Salvacion Elemetary School. However, more work is still necessary with a past catastrophic event of this magnitude but with continued support and effort, we as a region are excited about funding a project that is currently ongoing that would greatly help families in those affected areas. Proceeds of the gala will benefit the building of a Multipurpose Shelter in Tacloban, Leyte for temporary housing of families who remain homeless after two years of devastation by typhoon Haiyan. Almost two years after typhoon Haiyan, there are still several families living in danger zones, making do in makeshift shelters. There is an urgent need to relocate these families to safer grounds, especially with the onset of the rainy months. Once permanent housing has been built, it can be used as a community multi-purpose building.  Your support to this project will impact the lives of 290 families in a big way.
