(720) 504-3655 Combining the power of ancient dance forms with the exotic sounds of the Balinese gamelan, Tunas Mekar will perform a variety of instrumental and dance pieces including the Colorado premiere of Belibis, a stunning contemporary dance depicting an Indonesian grouse, with professional Balinese dancer Ni Ketut Marni. Also on the program is a new arrangement of Pak Lasmawan’s piece Tirta Bhuana, the popular Condong Legong dance, and Sekar Gendot, a composition for the courtly instrumental “love gamelan.” The second half of the concert will feature guest Balinese dancer I Gusti Ngurah Kertayuda performing numerous Topeng (mask) dances. Congratulations Chance Horiuchi!

The Havana BID Board has hired Chance Horiuchi for the executive director in-training position.  Chance will be training under current HBID executive director, Gayle Jetchick, for a full year to learn the ropes before taking over as ED in April of 2019.  Gayle can then semi-retire and drop back to part time or help with specific projects only. For the past six years, Chance worked as the Director of Business Development at the Aurora Chamber.  She is well connected in the Aurora community and has the business knowledge and energy to continue and expand the Havana BIDs programs.  Her first day on The Havana Street job is April 2, 2018.
