Ferry Sewol Disaster – Jindo, So Korea

The Aurora Asian/Pacific Community Partnership donated $500 in May to this special fund.  Please consider giving to the families of the students who lost their lives.  They are truly devastated. AFP – April 22, 2014 — Young students will not be able to rejoin the loving arms of their families.  Over 100 people have died in the ferry Sewol that capsized April 16th, and bereaved families wait sadly for news of hundreds still missing, feared submerged in the waters.  Of the 476 people on board the Sewol, approximately 325 were students and teachers from a high school near Seoul, who were on a trip to the holiday island of Jeju.  Approximately 174 people have been rescued.  Nearly 750 divers, mostly coastguard and military, are involved in the recovery operation.
